Metro Wellness Institute, Inc. (MWI) is a for profit company, located at 1629 K Street Suite 300,
Washington, DC 20006. It was established in April 1994 by Founder and President Darrell Cahall Fogan.

Mr. Fogan has been an American Red Cross Instructor since 1988. Since 1992, he has been an Instructor trainer, the Red Cross's highest level of instructorship. In 1995, The American Red Cross granted MWI authorization to provide Aquatics training in Water Safety, Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid (to aquatics professionals only).

In 1995, The National Safety Council also authorized MWI to provide CPR and First Aid training in the workplace as well as in public. MWI is a part of the American Heart Association Mid-Atlantic Area ( Delaware to South Carolina ).

On October 9, 1997, The American Heart Association recognized MWI as one of their twenty-two Training Centers around the Metro area that offer both public and private training in CPR techniques.

In 1998, MWI was recognized by The American Safety and Health Institute as a Training Center for CPR/AED/First Aid and Blood borne Pathogens.
